Warming Stripes Rain
Socks that show rainfall patterns at a glance
These beautiful blue stripe socks show the rainfall patterns in the Netherlands since 1901. Effio has indicated the volatility of precipitation in the Netherlands on the basis of temperature variations (by climate scientist Ed Hawkins). The darker the blue, the more erratic the precipitation: more and more extremely dry and wet periods. The pattern shows that rainfall patterns have become increasingly erratic in recent decades.
